It is constructed through systems that organize behavior, memory, and perception into something that can be recognized as a self. When those systems hold, identity appears continuous. When they fail, identity does not weaken.

It collapses.

Volume IV examines the failure of identity as a structure.

Across five films, identity is subjected to conditions that remove the mechanisms required for it to persist. Division replaces singularity. Dispersion removes containment. Structure absorbs the self. Time destabilizes continuity. Coherence dissolves entirely.

What remains is not a fractured identity.

It is the absence of identity as something that can exist at all.
